The Meritorious Service Award is conferred by the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite by a Council of Deliberation in the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction.
The Meritorious Service Award may be conferred upon members of the Rite in the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction who have attained the 32° and who by reason of meritorious service of a Masonic character are deemed worthy of such recognition.
Recipients of the MSA in the Northern Jurisdiction receive both a jewel and a pin, as well as a red Pillbox cap.
The pin of the MSA features the Consistory seal, surrounded by red enamel with the words "Meritorious Service Award" in gold.
The jewel of the MSA is gold. it features the seal of Consistory surrounded by a wreath, suspended from a gold chain over a red ribbon. it has two bars: the lower features the text "Meritorious Service Award" and the name of the Council of Deliberation conferring the award.
